Dear Mr. Gray:
Motivating students, creating an environment of dynamic learning, and presenting dynamic presentations are some of my strengths as a teacher. The past five years as a teacher have reinforced to me the importance of presentation in student retention and participation. This methodology along with expert knowledge of the subject matter and a passion for education have been key to my success as head of the English department at College of the Sequouias and English teacher at Southridge Community College.
Subjects I have taught are Modern American Literature, 18th Century English Literature. The Bible as Literature, Creative Writing, and Technical Writing. I completed my master’s degree in English Literature last year.
I am submitting my resume to your school in anticipation of next years teaching schedule. My enclosed resume details my qualifications. Some of the highlights are:
- Developed new curriculum standards for Hanford High School to exceed state standards.
- Interesting, motivational teaching methods that lead to knowledge retention.
- Ability to organize and lead special events such as guest lectures and seminars.
- Exceptionally skilled in working with colleagues of diverse backgrounds.
I would appreciate the chance to interview in person so that we can discuss how I might be of benefit to your fine institution. Thank you for your consideration.
Sincerely,
Bobbie J. Coley
